About UsEvents for Charities started off the back of a few charities events over the last 2 years and we want to share and help with some of the experiences we have gained and give help to groups, and organisations wanting to put on a successful event with less stress. Our first charity music event was in aid of 500 miles for Ciara in assoiciation with Poppy Scotland, we put together a music event featuring a host of original and covers bands and raised a total of £2,494. This was to help Ciara go to blind school in Edinburgh, with the promotion and media we used to promote the event we gained more attention and helped Ciara gain her place in Edinburgh's school for the blind. Ciara's father Mac passed on the cash we raised after obtaining funding for Ciara to go to school to another charity of his choice. The following year we were part of Rock for funds, that hosted a music event over 2 venues in aid of Yorkhill Childrens Foundation. With using past experiences we benefited from and raised a grand total of £3742. The aim was to continue with Rock for Funds but the venture was going in a different direction from what we were hoping for and we moved on from Rock For Funds. Since then Events for Charities was born through a family member having been taken in to Yorkhill Childrens hospital in Glasgow and they asked if I would like to get involved in raising money as a thank you to them for the care and support they had shown them while they were going through treatment for their son. Since the initial conversations Events for Charities was born. The first event under the Events for Charities banner was on the 8th April 2012 in Glasgow's Merchant City in aid of Love Hope & Strength Foundation.
